Travel For Your Tastebuds

Flavours of the Mediterranean

Morocco, a sunny mediterranean country rich in culture, beautiful landscapes and tantalizing cuisine is the inspiration for our Rockin' Moroccan Soup. With influences that include Berber, Arab, French, Spanish and Portuguese, you can expect to find sweet & savoury layered flavours and meals brimming with a variety of bright, fresh fruits and vegetables.

Rockin' Moroccan Soup

Our Rockin’ Moroccan Soup is what we like to think of as travel for the tastebuds! Mouth-wateringly aromatic, warming and hearty this exotic one-pot meal is easy to make and highlights the most complex spice blend we make. You might find the soup ingredients a little on the unusual side too!

One customer had this to say:

"I was a little skeptical when I first read the ingredients list for this soup. I could not imagine how the unique flavours would combine. I took a chance and ordered it and boy am I glad I did. It is so fragrant and delicious and not your average soup. I loved it and have made it many times now and it never disappoints. If you are looking for an exotic adventure disguised as a bowl of soup this is the recipe for you!"    ~ Robyn B.

Ras El Hanout

Ras El Hanout is a complex spice blend found in the areas of Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. It typically has more than a dozen ingredients, and its name means ‘Head of the shop’ in Arabic which refers to a blend that uses the very best ingredients that the shopkeeper has to offer.

The flavouring you can expect from the spice blend in this mix is warm, bold & earthy with a combination of sweet and bitter notes. You'll enjoy warming hints of clove, nutmeg and cinnamon along with the intriguing addition of lavender, rose petals & saffron. And the best part? You don't have to spend a ton of money on spices for this recipe... we've taken care of it for you!

Rockin Moroccan Spice Blend

Endless Meal Options

Rockin' Moroccan is a favorite Vegan/Vegetarian Friendly meal mix that calls for a selection of fresh ingredients including apple, orange, carrot and sweet potato or yams but Mitchell's meals are incredibly flexible. Feel free to experiment, add or omit ingredients and have some fun making this soup your own!

Fresh fruits and veggies

While our original Rockin' Moroccan recipe was created with the Vegan/Vegetarian meal in mind there is no reason you can’t add meat or seafood to your meal should you choose to!

Other common ingredients found in Moroccan cuisine include chicken, lamb and seafood. Including any of these to your meal would be a delicious addition.

TiP: Pre-cooked meats & seafood can simply be added to your meal at the end of the cooking just long enough to warm them up.

Add meat and seafood to your meal*Remember to always follow your Public Health Unit's recommendations for cooking meat and seafood.

What To Serve on the Side

We love adding some fresh bakery bread to our meals, perfect for dipping and extra filling for hungry bellies. And for those who like some extra heat, have a bowl of harissa (a spicy, smokey Middle Eastern chili paste) at the ready!

(Harissa can be found in the condiment or international foods aisle in many grocery stores).

To serve on the side, breads and harissa sauce.

We look forward to hearing how you enjoy this unique and exciting soup! We think you'll be delighted!
